Spine faded, some scattered underlining.Ward was a humorist of the Bob Hope variety, and he was favored by President Lincoln an. also said to have a strong influence on Mark Twain. Those who knew him later in life. pictured him as a burly fellow with a blackened face when he performed he stood on a table and being inerrupted every few minutes by poundings of the tabl eand shouts of "splendidid'.
