Loring of Boston began issuing Horation Alger Jr books in 1864 and since that time more than 65 publishers. have printed and distributed these rags-to-riches stories. This title appeared in book stalls at the turn of the century as Vol. II of the second Tattered Tom Series. This issue is a facsimile of an edition that appeared at that time. The Young Outlaw carries a warning that large cities are a jungle young and old picking on the naive country bumpkin. But a young citizen of the big city who is honest, kind and prepared to work hard can rise abaove the environment and become a success in life.
