Other photos from Japan, China & North America have been added. 96 pages, illustrated with 4 plates showing 24 rhododendrons in colour, and 20 plates showing about 120 in b.& w.. 43 figures of drawings by Holmgreen, diagrams & maps. The author is Director of the Botanical Gardens Dortmund - Brunninghausen. A round gold sticker on front states book was awarded "Winner of Royal Horticultural Society Veitch Memorial Gold Medal in Feb. 1970 ". Top edge of red c;pth cover is faded, bottom corner has been damp in the past causing pages in bottom corner to ripple slightly, otherwise paper not marked. I aim to please! I describe every fault, tiny tear & blemish in a book, because I would like the customer to be pleased & content with their purchase. Some have been surprised that their book is actually better than they thought it would be! I scan most books, & if requested can send more. If a customer finds a book ordered from me is not as described, then within 14 days he can return it for a full refund, but only if I consider its in the same condition as when I posted it. He must have proof of posting, & should also notify me first.
