Ivan Ovechko (1920 - 2002) was a Ukrainian journalist, author, educator, poet, and literary critic. After escaping Ukraine during WWII, he lived and worked in Brazil, before ultimately settling in the US, where he taught Slavic languages at the University of Northern Colorado.
