Dalai Lama / Hopkins, Jeffrey (transl. and ed.) - THE DALAI LAMA AT HARVARD. Lectures on the Buddhist Path to Peace.

Ithaka, Snow Lion Publications, 1988. 1st edition 255 pp. Pb. During his 1981 visit to the United States, the Dalai Lama gave a five-day series of lectures at Harvard under the auspices of the American Institute for Buddhist Studies and the Center for the Study of World Religions. These lectures are by no means a beginner's guide to Buddhism but require some prior exposure to the concepts, particularly of Vajrayana. They reveal the Dalai Lama's incredible grasp of the highly analytical approach of the Tibetan school as well as his knowledge of, and sympathy for, all other schools of Buddhism. The notes and bibliography are almost entirely from Tibetan language sources. near fine condition
