[1923]. - Quarto [approximately 11 inches high by 8-1/2 inches wide], printed in black on cream- colored paper with a portrait of the playwright on the title page. The corners are slightly creased. There is a short tear to the top edge of each page with a small area of light soiling near the bottom edge of the title page. Very good. Following the title page, the brochure includes a one-page bio of ChannIng; descriptions of two of his addresses, "The Fool and I" and "Personal Responsibility in the Theatre"; and "several letters out of several thousand" praising "The Fool"; written to Pollock by prominent individuals. Channing Pollock [1880-1946] was an American playwright, critic and writer of film scenarios. He began his career in 1896 as drama critic at The Washington Post and later worked at the Washington Times. He was the author of "The House Beautiful", "The Fool", "The Enemy" and many other successful Broadway productions. He also wrote film scenarios, including "The Evil Thereof" [1916], and a memoir "The Footlights, Fore and Aft" [1911]. Very good .
