The Ceylon Bible Society was formed in 1812 and it's main task was to translate the Bible into Cingalese (Sinhala) and making it accessible to the natives. The Wesleyan Press was established in 1815. This is an annual report of the Society's transactions of the year 1817 including information about the translation of the scriptures and religious treatises, and the state of the Society's funds.
