Edinburgh, Printed By W. H. Lizars for the Bannatyne Club. 1854. Cloth, 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall. Volume 2, Parts I & II. 1854-'55. Green cloth bindings, part 2 bound in a paler green. Rubbing and some marking to the covers, a few chips around the spine edges, some small amount of minor lifting to the cloth in places on the covers at side of the spine edges of vol 1, the hinges are secure. Contains 5 large fold out maps (Caithness & Ross 790 by 675mm, Harris and Lewis etc 805 by 352mm, Argyll and inner Isles 1050 by 620mm, Harris & Lewis again 810 by 350mm, Western Scotland 1050 by 620mm), maps are by W.H. Lizars. Still retains the publishers slip loosely inserted in vol 1 refering to the maps. Bright and tidy internally, mostly light marking. The maps are in good condition- no repairs etc. Pages; XX, (2), 390, (2) / XXII, (4), 391-846, (2). Pagination continuous through both volumes. First volume contains territorial history pertaining to Argyll & the Isles, the second contains Ross, Caithness, Argyll & the Isles. Good.
