CAPOZZI, FRANCIS C. - God's Fool: A New Portrait of St. Francis of Assisi.

New York: Morehouse-Gorham Company 1956. Hardbound 8vo (about 8 inches tall) 222 pages. Description: The publisher's blurb reads: ''This is a living picture of the universally beloved St Francis, created out of the saint's very own disarming simplicity. Francis is portrayed through the simple words and actions which have made him an immortal legend. The author succeeds in 'getting himself out of the way' and uses no interpretation and resists all temptation to offer comments and personal opinion. The reader is enabled to see straight through to the saint and truly catches the likeness of the Francis that many will love to know.'' The author was born in Santeramo Italy. After receiving his Ph.B. from the Catholic University De Propaganda Fide in Rome, he was ordained deacon in 1909 and priest in 1910.
