SMITH, BRADLEY F. - The War's Long Shadow ; The Second World War and Its Aftermath, China, Russia, Britain, America

 1461950988,
Andre Deutsch, London, 1986. First Edition, Hardcover. Very Good Condition/Good. 9780233977973 500 g; 322 pages, includes chapter notes, bibliography, index. In original hardcover binding, with dust jacket. The dust jacket has an abrasion of the top right-hand corner of the front panel from a price sticker removal, and a short tear top and bottom of the front panel and top of the rear panel (each tear measures less than half an inch). Otherwise no damage. The author argues persuasively that the social economic and political upheavals that began in the 1930s and culminated during World War II brought about a redistribution of power that has continued to shape the post world war. The author traces of the changes the war wrought on the big four Allies. (Personally I would argue that the changes had their origin in the Industrial Revolution, what would I know?) Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Please refer to accompanying picture (s). Quantity Available: 1.
