Comprises one hundred colour woodcut plates depicting numerous (about 600) patterns or designs mainly for textiles but also for carvings, swords, ornaments, ceramics, and other types of decorative art. With descriptions in Japanese. As issued with double folded leaves in the oriental style within original decorated paper covered boards, title labels on upper covers. Housed in original worn cloth folder. A very attractive set with brilliant images in fine impression and subtle colours. Comprises: I. From the period of Suiko empress to Tenpyo. Year 554-729; II. From Tenpyo to Konin period. Year 729-824;III. From Fujiwara to Heishi period. Year 825-1185; IV. From Kamakura to Ashikaga period. Year 1185-1573; and V. From Toyotomi to Tokugawa period. Year 1573-1868.
