In Cromwell's city, in the newly built Hell, by the fabric and invention of the Lord Protector. After the copy sent to you from Hell". This Dutch pamphlet contains a posthumous, history-laden dialogue between the Puritan preacher Hugh Peter and the former ruler of Britain. Peter lived in Boston 1635-1641 and came back to Britain in the expectation to further the cause of Cromwell. He was enthusiastic about the execution of Charles II and, as an army chaplain, attended the execution of many of Charles' allies, not without relish. After the Restoration, Master Peter was executed himself as a regicide in 1660. This pamphlet also treats the peace talks with the Netherlands and the intended marriage of Charles II with Catherine of Braganza. Knuttel 8451.
