Cochin, one engraved vignette and 18 engraved plates (17 folding) by Sebastien Le Clerc depicting Turkish costumes. Contemporary calf, flat spine richly gilt, rubbed and hinges weak, spine ends chipped. The second French edition of this important work on the Ottoman Empire mainly based on Rycaut's personal experiences.
