Szamosœjvâr (Hayakaghak, Gherla, Aremnierstadt), Vienna 1834.

Pp. 56. Title in Armenian and Hungarian. Contemporary decorated paper boards, cloth spine, spine ends and corners worn. Some minor browning. Old ownership signatures. First Hungarian-Armenian schoolbook. Zakariâs Gâbrus (1794-1870) was an Armenian polymath, priest and teacher, and the most cultural figure of the Armenian community of Samosœjvâr (a city in Transylvania founded by the Armenians around 1700). Gâbrus was also a skilled craftsman who designed globes, perpetual calenders, etc.
