May 1819 to Feb 1820; In half leather with marbled boards and red title label on spine in gilt reads "Literary Magazine". Contains articles on the Statistical Account of the parishes of Evie and Rendall in Orkney, Dunsyre in Lanarkshire and Broughton, Glenholm and Kilbucho, St. Lawrence River, an Account of the Superstitions of the Highlands, Usury Laws, Water Kelpie, Antiquities of Orkney, Calculus, Journal of a tour through Lower Canada, Greenland - lost colony, Dress of the Scottish Peasantry, Halloween, Quebec, Phrenology, Capture of a pirate in Orkney - and etc. Bound in half leather which is rubbed and worn at corners with some loss of leather and marbling. Book firm and tight however and internally clean with original endpapers; some old owners signatures. Near Very Good.
