(circa 1825) 2 vols. in-8°, x + 656, viii + 668 pp. Illustrated with two frontispieces, two engraved titles and 30 engraved plates in contemporary hand-colouring, including the two rare extra plates unrecorded in the table of plates: "St. George's Day" and "Tom & Bob catching a Charley Napping" (in the first volume). Some marginal stains and light foxing. Contemporary binding: original paper boards, paper labels on spines, untrimmed ¶ "The alternate scenes of high and low life, the contrasted characters, and revelations of misery side by side with prodigal waste and folly, attracted attention, while the vivacity of dialogue and description never flagged" (DNB).
