The Siege of Breda 1624-25 occurred during the Eighty Year's War. Breda, a dutch fortified City, falling into the control of the Army of Flanders. Following the orders of Ambrogio Spinola Philips IV's army laid siege on August 1624. The city was defended by a garrison of 7,000 men and was heavily fortified. Finally however the city fell into the hands of Spinola after eleven gruelling months. The Siege of Breda is considered Spinola's greatest success and one of Spain's last major victories of the Ethty Year's War against the Dutch Republic. Despite LACK of engraved title-print on A 1, a very rare work.
