McCabe was a former Franciscan priest who left the Catholic Church and became a vocal member of the anti-authoritarian Freethought movement. He was included among the thinkers G.K. Chesterton opposed in his book "Heretics." This pamphlet explains the events and practices which led McCabe to leave the Catholic Church. Good .
