Front cover with tinted illustrations, one of a being a Bellermanne jug, with covertittle in bold white type. 29pp. Many captioned monochrome illustrations of which some full-page, featuringarchaeological objects found, many figures and illustrations in text, charts and maps indicating the position of the Gilt Dragon, some comparative tables in text, references, explanatory text to cover illustrations on verso of ti,.-p., with a captioned monochrome picture of the Gilt Dragon dutch Indiaman. English language illustrated paper, a preliminary report on the findings of a dutch. merchant Vergulde Draeck (gilt Dragon), which was a Dutch East India Company's ship of the seventeenth century. She sailed from Texel bound for Batavia under Pieter Albertsz. and was carrying trade goods and eight chests of silver worth 78,6000 guilders. On 28 April 1656 the Gilt Dragon was wrecked just south of Ledge Point, 107 km. north of wha now is known as Perth, Western Australia.
