Bauduin, original stapled gray card wrappers with mounted coloured plate after W.A. de Wijn and embossed gilt title, small quarto (24x19 cm.). = Published on occasion of the 40th anniversary of the famous steel-firm Demka of Utrecht, an early example of the company photobook commissioned by Demka. The book illustrates the history of the firm and contains nice photomontage and retouche illustrations, partly by Paul Schuitema. The illustration on frontcover is a reproduction of a painting of the casting of iron. Rare.Paul Schuitema (1897-1973), born in the Netherlands, was a graphic designer proficient in typography, furniture-making, architecture, photography, painting, lithography and film. Schuitema, started out as a painter, studying at the Academie voor Beeldende Kunsten in Rotterdam. After the World War I, Schuitema left painting and embraced early modernism: his interest in mass production and technology lead him to apply the principals of de Stijl, Constructivism and Bauhaus to advertising and print media. He was a member of Kurt Schwitter's Ring neue Werbegestalter (Circle of New Advertising Designers), which included contemporaries Piet Zwart, László Moholy-Nagy, Herbert Bayer and Jan Tschichold.With his experimental use of photography, Schuitema made a significant contribution to the New Photography movement, later becoming one of the first teachers at the Academy of Visual Art in The Hague. Terms of Sale

Books are in good antiquarian condition, unless described otherwise. Serious defects are stated, minor defects not always. All prices are in Euro, tax included, but without postage, packing and bank charges which are at buyer's expense. Shipping of books after receipt of payment. Books may be returned within 14 working days (prior notification welcome). A full refund can be expected if the books do not match the description stated. Otherwise, only the price of the books (excluding shipping costs) will be refunded.
Orders from the Netherlands and other Euro-countries preferably paid by bank transfer.
We also accept VISA, Mastercard/Eurocard, American Express and Paypal at cost.

Verkoopvoorwaarden

Onze boeken verkeren in goede antiquarische staat, tenzij anders beschreven. Kleine onvolkomenheden zijn niet altijd vermeld. Prijzen zijn in Euro, inclusief BTW (niet apart vermeld, omdat we deelnemen aan de margeregeling voor antiquaren) en exclusief portokosten.
Een bestelling per e-mail wordt altijd met een e-mail beantwoord. Bestellingen worden doorgaans verstuurd na betaling vooraf.
We behouden ons het recht voor de goederen te verzekeren en/of aangetekend te verzenden. De kosten daarvan worden veelal doorberekend aan de koper.
Boeken blijven eigendom van de verkoper tot de volle prijs is betaald. Retourzendingen binnen 14 dagen na ontvangst (waarbij voorafgaande kennisgeving op prijs wordt gesteld). In dat geval volgt restitutie van de prijs van het boek (exclusief portokosten). Alleen als de beschrijving foutief was, worden ook de portokosten gerestitueerd. Retourzendingen dienen de verkoper te bereiken in dezelfde staat als waarin ze aan de koper werden verzonden. Het risico van retourzendingen is voor de afzender!

Betaling per bankoverschrijving geniet de voorkeur. U kunt eveneens betalen met VISA, Mastercard/ Eurocard, American Express, Paypal – hiervoor worden doorgaans de werkelijke transactiekosten doorberekend aan klant
