Pristine copy of this modern rendering of the 14th century CE 24-tale bawdy classic -- with a twist: In 1972 a medieval erotic black comedy film version was released, with the second tale, "The Friar's Tale," portrayed by Nicholas Smith (1934-2015), the British actor best known as department store manager Mr. Rumbold on the BBC sitcom "Are You Being Served?" On a grey heavy stock card tipped to an inner flyleaf, he boldly writes in blue fineline a cryptic "Thanks for the S.A.E. -- few bother.." and signs with his initials "N.S." Fine and unusual. .
