Printed at Purewa, Church Mission Press, (1846-7). Robert Maunsell, Irish-born missionary who lived and served in New Zealand for almost sixty years. He was an authority on Ma›ri language and culture. Together with William Williams he made translations of the Bible. Williams 145. (Purewa, St John's College) 1852. Pp. 24. Abridged of Farquhar's "Pearl of Days" translated into Ma›ri, probably by Mary Ann Martin. She was a social worker, writer and teacher at St John's College and St Stephen's School for Native Girls. Married to William Martin, Chief Justice in New Zealand. Williams 237.
