Comprises interesting and valuable essays and articles treating various subject related to the Far East, preceded by "Mélanges asiatiques" (1825-26). The first volume treats China and its inhabitants and literature, followed by chapters about Cambodia; the Japanese islands; the people of Tibet and Bukhara; a collection of Japanese accounts prepared by Titsingh; the British commerce in Canton (Staunton); acupuncture; and the Japanese grammar (Rodriguez); the history of the Mongols, etc. The second volume comprises: 1. "Études biographiques" including short accounts of famous Chinese emperors, ministers, historians, foreign missionaries, etc. and; 2. "Sur la philosophie des Hindoues d'apres les memoires de M. All items are offered subject to previous sale. All books are complete, octavo in size and in good condition, unless otherwise stated. Prices are in Euro; packing, postage and insurance are extra. New customers are requested to remit payment upon receipt of a pro forma invoice prior to shipment. Books may be returned within fourteen days of receipt after our confirmation.
