Handwritten two-page letter SIGNED "Rudyard Kipling" on his Bateman's Burwash Sussex stationery to Monsieur [Paul] Lambotte. In full: "I am of course honoured to be on the Committee of the [Emile] Verhaeren's memorial but it seems to me that if he is to be adequately honoured by England, it should be officially and for that purpose you must have the Poet Laureate [Robert Bridges] to deliver the oration, and I think you would find Mr. [Edmund] Gosse would agree with this. I hope before long that we may have the pleasure of meeting you again at -- our common London home." Attractively and professionally matted and framed to an overall size of 15" x 12-1/2.
