Collated complete. Alexander Charles Ewald (1842-1891) offers a thorough portrait of the life and definitive career of Benjamin Disraeli, a British statesman and Conservative politician who served twice as Prime Minister. Disraeli played a largely influential role in the rising popularity of the Conservative party, making it the party most identified with the British Empire. This biography was published the year of his death in 1881. Ewald was an English civil servant with a successful list of historical works.  In the publisher's original cloth binding with decorative gilt. Externally, smart with rubbing and bumping to the extremities, heaviest to the spines heads and tails. With slight sunning to the spines and marks to the boards, more noticeably to Vol III. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with the exception of the odd spot to the first few leaves. Very Good . Ill.: Various. Very Good .
