James Blyth - The Barbarians

 1569612960,
London, John Long, Limited, 1915. Cloth. A second edition copy of this very scarce work from British author James Blyth. Second edition, published the same year as the first. Very scarce work. Julius Vandermer was a stoutly built man who, since his retirement, had cultivated a great beard as well as a garden. He looked more like a Rotterdam skipper than the head of a highly respectable family. Now seeking to enjoy his later years, he must ensure all of his daughters are married. Written by James Blyth, a prolific British author recognised for his contributions to science fiction in the future war genre. Publisher's advertisements to the rear. In the original red cloth binding. Externally, sound with rubbing and light bumping to the extremities. Light fading to the spine with the odd small mark to the boards. Small splits in the cloth to the head and tail of the spine with larger splits to the rear joint resulting in minor fraying. Rear hinge starting but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd spot. Light spotting to the first and last few pages. Previous owner's bookplate to the front pastedown with library bookplate to the rear pastedown. Good . Ill.: None. Good .
