In the publisher's original cloth.This sixth edition is extra illustrated compared to previous editions and contains 24 plates in colour and black and white in adition to 300 facsimile reproductions of engraver's marks. Illustrated with examples of the various engraver's works. This copy is very bright internally. Slater was an important figure in the field of bibliography and wrote many works on the subject. These include, but is not limited to 'How to Collect Books' and 'The Romance of Books&apos. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, generally smart, with bumping to the head and tail of spines. Splits to the head of spine, which is faded. Hinges are strained but firm. Internally, firmly bound.
