The novel was originally published in The Nova Scotian Newspaper.Volume I has three plate illustrations. Volume II has a frontispiece and three plate illustrations. Volume III has a frontispiece and four plate illustrations. Collated, complete. Thomas Chandler Haliburton was a Nova Scotian politician, judge and author and was the first international best-selling author of fiction from what is now Canada. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, with some wear to the original cloth. The spines are uniformly faded.
