First editions of this collection of six volumes from the British Anthologies series. There were ten volumes published as part of this series. In the publisher's original green cloth binding.Edited by Professor Edward Arber, who was a scholar, writer and editor, and a fellow of Kings College London. This collection is comprised of the following: 'The Dunbar Anthology' (1901), containing poetry from William Dunbar and others from 1401-1508. 'The Spenser Anthology' (1899), containing poetry from Edmund Spenser and others, from 1548-1591. 'The Jonson Anthology' (1899), containing poetry from Ben Jonson and others, from 1617-1637. 'The Milton Anthology' (1899), containing poetry from John Milton and others from 1638-1674. 'The Pope Anthology' (1899), containing poetry from Alexander Pope and others from 1701-1744. 'The Cowper Anthology' (1901), containing poetry from William Cowper and others from 1775-1800.With a library bookplate of Cambridge Union Society to the front endpaper of 'The Dunbar Anthology&apos.Ink inscription to hald title of 'The Spenser Anthology', of P. L. Stewart, dated 1925. Ink inscription of H. Cooke to the first blank of 'The Pope Anthology&apos. In the publisher's original green cloth binding. Externally, generally smart with slight bumping to the spine and extremities. Light rubbing to the extremities and joints. Hinges slightly strained, moreso to 'Dunbar&apos. A small tear in the cloth to the rear hinge of 'Dunbar&apos. Bookplate to front endpaper of 'Dunbar&apos. Internally, generally firmly bound. Binding slightly tender to 'Dunbar&apos. Pages lightly age toned, but otherwise bright and clean. Small area of worming to the rear of the textblock of 'Jonson&apos. Ink inscription to half title of 'Spenser&apos. The odd stamp of Cambridge Union Society to 'Dunbar', with a blind stamp to title page. Ink inscription to first blank of 'Pope&apos. Very Good . Ill.: None. Very Good .
