In the publisher's original decorative cloth binding, by Burn & Co. With a frontispiece portrait engraved by Vincent Brooke. A collection of poems and writings by Alfred, Lord Tennyson, Poet Laureate for most of the Victorian period. He is best known for his poems, 'Claribel' and 'Mariana&apos. With a contemporary ink inscription to the half title page dated 1872. In the original decorative cloth binding. Externally, smart with shelf wear to the edges and spine. A few marks to the boards and darkening to the spine. Marks to the paste-downs. Binder's label to the rear paste-down. Spotting to the free endpapers and some chipping to the front free endpaper. Hinges strained but firm. Internally, binding slightly strained but firm. Some spotting and a few marks to the pages but otherwise the text is clear. Age-toning to the edges. Good . Ill.: None.
