A set of three of Mrs. Beeton's cookery books. In the original cloth binding.Isabella Beeton was an English journalist, editor and writer who is particularly associated with her first book, 'Mrs Beeton's Book of Household Management&apos. These three cookery volumes centring around the following culinary categories:'Fish Cookery: Including Suitable Sauces, Serving and Carving' - With instruction on choosing, preparing and cooking fish, and containing recipes such as eel pie, fish stock, kippered herrings and devilled oysters. Illustrated with a frontispiece and seven double-sided monochrome plates. 'Cold Sweets: Jellies, Creams, Fruit Dishes, Cold Puddings, and Ices' - Containing recipes such as apricot trifle, gooseberry fool, orange jelly and bakewell tart. Illustrated with a frontispiece and seven plates. 'Sauces & Soups: Including Sauces for Fish, Meat, Vegetables and Puddings, also Broths and Thick and Clear Soups' - Contains recipes such as mushroom sauce, caramel, hotch potch, turtle soup and mayonnaise. Illustrated with a frontispiece and seven plates. Collated, complete.  In the original cloth binding. Externally, smart, with rubbing to the extremities and darkening to the spines. Marks to the boards and spines, most notable to 'Sauces' and 'Fish Cookery&apos. Rear hinge tender to 'Cold Sweets&apos. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, with occasional spots, heaviest to 'Sauces&apos. Ownership bookplate of ones Martin and Pamela Finch tipped in to the front free endpapers of 'Sauces' and 'Fish' and to the recto of the frontispiece to 'Cold Sweets&apos. Very Good .
