The first published in 1959 covers the years 1931 to 1940, and the second volume published in 1970 covering in years 1941-1950. The Dictionary of National Biography is a reference work that explores the lives of notable figure of British history. The first volume of the dictionary was published in the late 19th century. A lovely example of this important biographical reference work. In the publisher' original cloth binding. Externally smart with light bumping to the head and tail of the spine, and also to the extremities. Patches of very light rubbing to the joints, and extremities.
