Uniformly bound in half calf with cloth boards. Complete in six volumes. Dated using Jisc, from copies of the work held at the British Library. A lavishly illustrated work exploring the beauty and history of Britain. A descriptive, historical, and pictorial study on notable cities, towns, villages, and monuments in Britain. With chapters on Bristol, Liverpool, Dublin, Salisbury and Stonehenge, and many more. Each volume is illustrated with a frontispiece and nine plates, with additional vignettes throughout. Collated, complete. Uniformly bound in half calf with cloth boards. Externally, very good, with slight rubbing to the extremities. Cloth is lightly soiled, heavier to volume I, II and III. Cloth lifting to I and III. The odd mark to leather. Internally, firmly bound, with the exception of volume I, where the binding is strained to the first few pages, with the 'Introduction' page working loose.
