A very scarce work. In the original cloth boards. This extracted data shows the number and names of owners of land of one acre and upwards, together with introductory remarks of the original Domesday Book. Based on the data of 'Return of Owners of Land, 1873', which was the first complete picture of the distribution of land ownership in Great Britain since the Domesday Book of 1086, earning it the nickname 'Modern Domesday&apos. Compiled by Wynne Edwin Baxter, an English lawyer who is best known as the coroner who conducted the inquests on most of the victims of the Whitechapel Murders of 1888-1891. This includes victims of "Jack the Ripper" and the "Elephant Man". With a large folding table displaying the data. In the original cloth covered boards. Externally, sound.
