Complete with two volumes bound in one.Biographical sketch of the life and times of Queen Elizabeth I compiled from a series of original letters from the private correspondence of the Lord Treasurer Burghley, the Earl of Leicester, the Secretaries Walsingham and Smith, Sir Christopher Hatton, and other distinguished people from her time. Selected and edited by antiquarian Thomas Wright. Illustrated with frontispiece to each volume and three further plates, of which two folding. Collated, complete. Folding plate with minor closed tear tape repaired by a previous owner. Rebound in half calf over marbled boards, renewed plain endpapers, gilt tooling to spine. Externally with shelf wear, chipped to head of spine, substantial loss to spine title label, back strip rubbed and chipped. Previous ownership inscription to front pastedown, undated. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean with minor spotting to odd leaf, particularly leaves of plates; pages otherwise generally very clean throughout. Good . Ill.: Not Stated. Good .
