Collated, complete. Illustrations to this work are by the English watercolour landscape painter and illustrator, Harold Sutton Palmer. Sutton Palmer was from Plymouth in Devon and studied at the Royal College of Art. He was hired by A and C Black to illustrated many travel works as he specialised in idyllic rustic landscapes painted in watercolours. To this work there is textual accompaniment by the Scottish author, Ascott Robert Hope Moncrieff. Moncrieff penned several works on myths, legends, travel and more. This is a reprint from 1912. A beautifully presented work, in a lovely decorative cloth binding. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, smart with minor shelfwear to the head and tail of spine as well as to the extremities. A few light marks to boards. Internally, firmly bound.
