The series 1000 nejkrasnejšich novell (= 1000 beautiful short stories) was published from about 1911 to 1916 as a biweekly magazine in book form. It contained mainly translations from various languages, four in every issue. This book also contains translations from Cervantes (Czech title translatable as 'The Voice of Blood'), Iza Savická ('The Organist') and Novalis ('Fairytale').
