Thring was a clergyman, known for his contributions to the early history of association football. He was born in Alford, and later served as curate there. In a full calf binding. Externally, generally smart, a little rubbed, heavier to the spine. A small amount of loss to the head of the spine. Light bumping to the spine and to the extremities. Front joint is starting. Some light marks to the boards and spine. Fading to the head of the boards. Front hinge is strained. Rear hinge is tender. Bookplate to the front paste down.
