The novel follows him as he travels with his mysterious tutor, Mentor.Originally written in French by Francois Fenelon. Fenelon was a French writer who became a royal tutor in 1689 to Louis XIV eldest son. Though it is generally believed that Fenelon had a dramatic effect on the improvement of the young royal.This edition was translated into English by Tobias Smollett.Two pages of adverts to the rear. In a full buckram binding. Externally, a little discoloured, with some marks. Light bumping to the extremities. Small tear to the tail of the rear joint. Faded ink to the boards and spine. Hinges are a little strained but remain firm. Bound without endpapers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned and generally clean with some scattered spots and handling marks. Good .
