An 1814 edition of this work in a full calf binding with decorative gilt-stamping and blind-stamping to the boards. Bookplate to the front paste down. Mark Akenside (1721-1770) was an English poet and physician, best known for his long didactic poem 'The Pleasures of the Imagination&apos. This work contains this poem as well as a selection of the rest of his poetical works, and a brief biography of Akenside. In a full calf binding. Externally, fairly smart, though rubbed to the boards, joints and extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean with the odd spot. Very Good . Ill.: Not Stated.
