Cloth. Three uncommon religious works bound together. All were published by B Jackson in 1786. The first work to this volume is 'Memorable Remarks Upon the Ancient and Modern State of the Jewish Nation&apos. This is written by Nathaniel Crouch. Crouch was a printer and bookseller, who sometimes wrote under the pseudonym of Richard Burton. He was one of the authors that covered the 1655 Whitehall Conference to consider the resettlement of Jews in England. This work has been formed from his reports during two journeys to the Holy Land in the Ottoman Era. ESTC reference no T71863. 'Memorable Remarks' is a first edition. The second work is 'The Death of Abel' and is misbound in two parts. The first is pages 27-130 bound after 'Memorable Remarks' and the second is pages 1-26 bound after 'The French Convert&apos. Written by Gessner, and translated into English. This is the 27th edition and has been translated by Mary Collyer.  ESTC reference no T142579. With one plate to 'The Death of Abel&apos. The third work is 'The French Convert', and is the twelfth edition. It regards 'the errors and superstitions of popery, to the reformed religion' and depicts the conversion from Catholicism by a Noble French lady, by means of a protestant gardener her servant&apos.
