A new, revised and enlarged edition of this comprehensive guide to needlework by Therese de Dillmont, Austrian needle-worker and writer. This is Dillmont's most popular work, translated into seventeen languages in numerous editions. Dated from the same copy held at the Victoria and Albert Museum libraries on Jisc. In the DMC Library series, this edition published in English, French, German, and Italian. Dillmont owned various shops in European capitals and was one of the most relevant pioneer in the international and multicultural enterprise of hobby needlework in the late nineteenth century. She wrote this guide to the pastime which sums her knowledge and experience in the practice, with precise directions and instructions. With numerous figures in text throughout as well as thirteen full page coloured plates illustrating the various patterns.
