The book covers are generally clean and bright, but have noticeable bumping and rubbing to the spine ends and corners. There is a small library tag glued to the bottom spine end of the book cover. The text pages are mostly clean and bright. There are a couple of handwritten notations from a former owner regarding his opinion of the author (mosty) . The front pastedown page has the remnants of a previous owner's bookplate. There is an ink stamped "Children's Research Collection" on the front endpaper. The last free page of the book has an ink stamped bookstore's name and address (Lorimer's Book Store - Market st. & Van Ness). The map is intact, but has at least one tear to a crease, and all 15 full page illustrations are intact and in Very Good condition.
