Blackmore, John H. (1890-1971) - Money, the Master Key

[Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada?], Privately Printed, N.D. [Circa 1939]. First Edition, First Printing. Softcover. pp. 191. 8vo. measuring 25 cm tall. Illustrated teac card covers, untrimmed page edges. Lightest rubbing to the covers, one very short closed tear to the bottom edge of the front cover, else, near fine. Scarce in commerce. Corresponds to OCLC #41202260. Comprises of material which Blackmore used in speeches while campaigning for a seat as a Canadian Member of Parliament under the banner of the Social Credit Party of Canada (also serving as leader of the party from 1935-1944). Blackmore was ultimately elected MP in the Canadian federal election of 1935 representing the riding of Lethbridge, Alberta - a seat he would retain until his defeat in 1958. In the following pages I have expressed the ideas which I have formed after a study of the subject of money. They are the views of the student and layman, written for lay students as an introduction to the subject. No attempt has been made to give any sort of detailed plan for putting the principles into operation. Neither does the book purport to set forth the case for any particular school of monetary reform. In fact I have drawn generously upon the views of quite orthodox authorities, and if anything I have gone out of my way to concede much to financial orthodoxy.
