A hardcover book that has been rebound with a brown cloth spine, retaining the original leather-tipped cloth boards. FAIR condition. The leather is cracking off. The title and call number have been handwritten on the spine. Front free endpaper is gone; rear free endpaper detached but present. Contains the bookplate of the Chicago Theological Seminary, plus a card pocket in back. Pages tanned and brittle with age (first several pages have worn edges), but otherwise, text clean. The binding is tight. The books of Chronicles, Esther, and Job in Biblical Aramaic (here mislabeled as Chaldean). The editor was a German orientalist whose anti-Semitic and anti-Slav writings are believed to have contributed to the rise of Nazi ideology. Fair .
