John Murray,, 1913. 8vo., with frontispiece, title-vignette, numerous plates and illustrations in the text, and 2 folding coloured maps on japon at end, small contemporary signature on front paste-down; original sage green cloth, upper board blocked in gilt, back lettered and blocked with bolas all in gilt, uncut, upper hinge starting (but binding wholly sound) else a very good, bright, clean, crisp copy. Murray's first illustrated edition (Freeman 59) was first published in 1890. This is the first reissue, in identical binding save scallop shell on front board. VERY SCARCE, ESPECIALLY IN THIS CONDITION. Freeman 125.
