First published in 1678, this work follows a man aptly named Christian as he advances along the path of religious self discovery. Since its publication, 'The Pilgrim's Progress', has been translated into more than two-hundred languages and has never been out of print. Illustrations throughout of engravings on wood by the brothers Dalziel, from designs by William Harvey.With 'The Author's Apology for his Book' to the front of the work, unpaginated between page iv and v. Rebound in a full morocco binding with gilt tooling to the spine. Externally, generally smart, with light rubbing to the extremities and to the joints. The occasional mark to boards, mainly to the front. Endpapers renewed, but lacking front endpaper and frontispiece. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean.
