Jacques Casanova, also known as Giacomo Casanova, was an Italian adventurer and author from the Republic of Venice. He is also well known for his elaborate affairs with different women. 'The Ten Pleasures of Marriage, and the Second Part, The Confession of the New, Married Couple,' attributed to Aphra Behn. With an introduction by John Harvey. With two engraved titles and twenty plates. Collated complete. Originally published in the seventeenth century, this work details the delights and contentments of matrimony. Uniformly bound in full cloth with gilt detail. Externally, very smart with some light shelf wear to the edges. Spine is darkened. Marks to the boards. Small mark to the rear free endpaper of 'The Ten Pleasures of Marriage&apos. Some offsetting and spotting to the paste-downs and endpapers. Internally, generally firmly bound. The plate on page 147 of the 'Ten Pleasures of Marriage' is loosening, but still intact. Pages lightly age-toned but otherwise bright and clean with some light spotting throughout and the occasional small mark.
