A fascinating and close exploration of these Scottish areas of natural beauty.Penned by James Bryce (1806-1877), an Irish naturalist and geologist.Illustrated with a colour map of the island of Arran as frontispiece. In a full cloth binding. Externally a trifle rubbed, with some loss to the cloth of the head and tail of the spine and bumping to the extremities. Ownership stamp to the front pastedown, a previous owner's inscription has been erased, and there are a few instances of tape residue to the endpapers.
