All page edges gilt (rubbed) . Original yellow endpapers. Previous owner's detail to front endpaper: "Laura Jane Gillespie 1858." Blind stamp bookseller's details to front free-endpaper: "T. Evans & Co..Liverpool". Also: Small binder's label to recto of the rear board: "B. West, Binder, Clerkenwell, London". Engraved frontis, facing a printed title-page, plus numerous illustrations within the text. Clear text throughout, with just the odd brown spot. VG.

Return of goods
